Joel Daniel BUSH
Joel Daniel Bush was born April 7, 1987 in Seattle, WA, and died December 30, 2011 in Bellevue, WA at the age of 24. Joel was a member of Iron Workers Local 86, and had his own business called Bush’s Home Improvement. Joel enjoyed the outdoors, camping, fishing, motor bike riding, hiking, flying and spending time with family and friends. Joel is survived by his father, Norman Bush, Sr., mother Jackie Crisp, 6 siblings, Norman Jr., Jazmin, Jordan, Elizabeth, Cleora, and Jalen, grandparents, Barbara Headrick, Carolyn Bush, and Carl Crisp, great-grandmother Vera Nelson, great-great-grandmother Betty Stone, numerous uncles, aunts, and cousins, and by his faithful dog, Elvis. Joel was preceded in death by his grandfather Edwin W. Bush, Sr. Funeral Service Thursday, January 12, 2012 at 1:30pm at Bonney-Watson Washington Memorial, 16445 International Blvd., SeaTac, WA 98188.

We are so sorry for your loss. Joel was a great kid. My sister Tiffany and I, Jennifer remember Norman (Joel’s father ) who worked for my dad Kermit (aka Jr) at the time, bringing Joel over to our house when he was a little boy and he would hangout at our house while our dads’ worked at my dad’s chimney sweep business. I believe he also went w/ my dad and his dad to job sites at times.. He really seemed to love his dad so much and look up to him.
Once again we are so sorry for your loss. He was such a wonderful lttle boy, and I am sure he was a joy as a young adult also.
He was a good kid and I know my family will miss him.
You will be missed Joel. You were one of a kind. A kind that we all wish there were more of in the world. May you rest in peace.
My deepest and sincere sadness in hearing this news. While I did not know Joel well, he was a sweet endearing man. God bless you Joel, and family. In the passing of a very lovable person, we will miss you!

Remember that time we went to Angle Lake at the 3AM borrowed a paddle boat from someones yard and took it clear across the lake?

Joel you were like a brother to me, I’ll always remember all the fun we had together! I’m gonna miss you so much but we’ll meet again. Even though I have not seen Joel since he was 12, I have fond memories of him on his vacation here. Words alone will never fill the whole in your hearts and so I am sending my prayers that all of you will find peace. Please know that my heart breaks for all of you. R.I.P Joel

Joel, Your smile could light up an entire room. What I loved most about you was your care-free ways. You had fun no matter what. I was talking with Mitch and both him and I thought about it and came to a conclusion that you were never un-happy. In all the times of hanging out it was always a great time. Keep smiling Joel. We are going to miss you like crazy.

I only knew Joel as a baby, and he was always smiling then too. With all of the wonderful things that have been said about him, I wish I could have known him better. My thoughts and prayers go out to all of His family and friends.

I did not know this young man personally. But just reading about his life really touch my heart. He seam to be a person that love and lived life to the full. And was love and appreciated by many. May the God of all comfort become your refuge and strength during this most difficult time. Please accept our heartfelt condolences.
I am here to express my gratitude for all that were in attendance at Joel’s Celebration of life. Thank you so much for your support and love.
Through my grief, I realized today that God was busy, I knew that Joel was kind, and a hard worker, compassionate, and so adventerous, what I didnt realize is that as he shared who God made him to be, people were watching him, admiring him, and that we are never too young to leave a legacy.
It was standing room only, and people who hadnt spoke in YEARS, were holding hands, comforting each other. Mothers that had been keeping children from their fathers brought them together, unconditionally. Families that got too busy for each other, renewed their vows regarding traditions and holidays. It was like the human kindness that usually baffles me , was alive and living and all seemed to know that in this death that was senseless and tragic, a community had been being worked upon for years and that our teacher my son Joel lived life the way he did because it was an intricate plan that was designed renew our faith, love, and hope in our families and friends.
I am trying to find acceptance and peace in this, this loss that has stripped my soul and has had me screaming and crying for so many days straight. Literally, no sleep, no food, just sobbing. But after I have seen what God has been doing through our son Joel, I have faith again, I have faith that eventually I will find peace in the understanding that we are all right where we are supposed to be.

I was Joel’s mentor in elementary school at Hilltop, and we continued that friendship even after he moved away. I had the privilege of seeing him again about a year ago.
