Obituary
John left us on August 2, 2009. John was preceded in death by his Father and Mother Robert and Dorothy Benson. He is survived by his children Erica Naomi and Craig, wife, Leslie, stepchildren Heather and Jessica, brother Tom Debbie and sisters Kathy and Joanne Gordon Glasgow, and his beloved granddaughter Kaydence.
John graduated from Franklin High School Seattle in 1977 and attended Green River Community College. He most recently worked as a Senior Project Manager at Cierra Electrical Group in Seattle.
All John’s friends and family know of his passion for all things Irish and for Seafair. Next time you hear Celtic music, stumble upon a Renaissance Faire, hear a hydroplane running on Lake Washington or the roar of a Blue Angel, know that John is somewhere smiling. He is at peace.
Please make remembrances to Kaydence’s college GET fund, NW Kidney Center,http://www.nwkidney.org/nkc/howYouCanHelp/donate/index.html, or the Hydroplane Museum http://www.thunderboats.org/.

The Gonser Family
John was always are great friend
I’ll miss him forever.
We always enjoyed chatting with John at the Palsson’s parties. He was an interesting and fun person.
Pool games, poker parties, hangin’ out. Thanks for helping to make those High School years so memorable and full of laughs. Peace…
I have fond memories of John as a kid running around the Mt. Baker community in Seattle. My sympathies to the Benson Family. May John rest in peace.
Building balsa wood hydroplanes to race in the gutter or plywood ones to pull behind our bikes…things were much simpler then John. I have a bushel full of memories and I hope you have found peace and simplicity once again.
John and I graduated together in 77. We had some great times and created some good memories. We lost touch through the years as many school friends do, but that doesnt mean he was any less of a friend. My deepest condolences to his children and the many friends I know he had.
John-You were the best adopted big brother anyone could ever have.
You are greatly missed!!!
May you be three days in Heaven before the Devil knows you’ve died. Via con Dios, my friend.

John:
We had some great times working on cars, hanging out in the neighborhood, etc. You were a great friend, always being there for anyone. I’ll always be thankful for you loaning that video camera to Carlene and the kids so they could send me a video in Turkey for Christmas 1982. Rest in Peace my friend.
John, I will always remember those renaissance faires with a big smile on my face. It really was fun to dress up in the period costumes. The kids really liked it, too.
You never know what you’ve lost until it’s gone. I will forever miss you. ;
