John D. Laush, “Uncle John”, passed away peacefully on November 6, 2013 at the age of 88. Born May 30, 1925 in Enumclaw, WA, he was raised on a farm with three sisters. In 1943, he joined the United States Merchant Marines and proudly served until 1952. After leaving the service, Uncle John became employed in the paint industry where he worked until retirement in 1988 as a Customer Service Manager for Parker Paint Mfg. Company. He was a member of the Elks, Knights of Columbus, and St. Theresa Catholic Church in Federal Way. Throughout his life, he enjoyed biking, skiing, walking, and listening to opera. Uncle John is survived by numerous nieces and nephews, and great and great-great nieces nephews. The family wishes to send a special thank-you to Joel Rosas and Kim Gordon for their dedication, love, and unending support during the last 7 months. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Franciscan Hospice at 2901 Bridgeport Way W., University Place, WA 98466. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 13, 2013, 12:00 PM, at Bonney – Watson; Federal Way, 1535 SW. Dash Point Rd., Federal Way, WA 98023.
