.Dear John;
Your passing has left me lonely for those Sundays when we would meet at South Center at Sarku’s for our Double Meat Teriyaki and your Diet Coke, no ice. You were special John, you were at times out spoken, bitter, even brash at times because you always told it like it was, you never pulled any punches. You were ethical, and believed forthwith in the American Way!! You work, you deserve to have. I will remember the many stories and moments we shared together and the times we spent watching “eye candy” at the Mall. Those were special times that I won’t soon forget. I will remember the times when you spoke of your daughters, Jaime and Crystal and the strong affection you had for your Grand kids. I remember the tears that would come to your eyes when you spoke of them. You John Gettmann were a man among men, you stood on your principles, you relished your friends and dreamed of being a “Dad”. I felt your pain as we talked all these years, I can only hope that in some small way, you cherish those memorable times. Be at peace my friend. Carry the torch to that gentle place reserved for your kind and gentle heart and may you be restored in Heaven because on this earth, you will not be forgotten. Blessings always!! Your Mall Buddy: Winston
I was very sorry to hear of John’s passing and taken completely by surprise. It seems like just yesterday that John was telling me about his trip to Hawaii and how much he enjoyed it. It is no small consolation to know that John had the chance to work that trip into his scedule. Aloha John
Hey Boss. It’s been a little over 2 months since we lost you, and it isn’t getting any easier to cope with. Joone still asks about you from time to time, and Hilari & I don’t have the heart to tell her that you’re not with us anymore. You weren’t just a friend or acquaintance, you were family. I recently started working at GM Nameplate, and everyday I wish you would miraculously come walking through the door. We will always keep you in our hearts, Boss!
