I miss the days that John would stop by with his dog Charlie for a cup of coffee and a visit. It would often turn out to be a couple of hours talking about computers, tales of the “old days”, cars, politics, whatever. He loved his family and friends, and always had great stories.

So go and run free

So go and run free with the angels

Dance around the golden clouds

For the lord has chosen you to be with him

And we should feel nothing but proud

Although he has taken you from us

And our pain a lifetime will last

Your memory will never escape us

But make us glad for the time we did have

Your face will always be hidden

Deep inside our hearts

Each precious moment you gave us

Shall never, ever depart

So go and run free with the angels

As they sing so tenderly

And please be sure to tell them

To take good care of you for me

I’m so sorry to hear about John. I have soooooo many fond memories of him, and the whole family for that matter. Soccer and softball would have been very different for me without him and Kathy. My heart breaks for Kathy, Paula and Brenda. Y’all have already suffered so much. I hope you find some comfort reading these comments and knowing that you are not alone in missing him. My very deepest condolences to you all.

How does one describe in just a few words my brother John? He was one of the most unique people I have ever known. He was kind, direct, he spoke his mind, had an opinion on everything, and was very loyal.

We were always happy to see him when he would drop in to visit after his not to frequent trips to his lady barber, who by the way, is in Covington (not just around the corner from Tukwila). Our dog, Jinx, loved him because he always had a dog treat just for her. We would chat and catch up on family gossip and what was happening in our worlds. I could go on and on with childhood memories.

We may not understand why God called him home now, but He must have a need for John in heaven. The world lost a wonderful man who will be missed forever.

Until we meet again, Love, Kathy D.

It was quite a shock to hear John had passed away, I’ve known him my whole life as we my twin sis and I grew up with his youngest daughter, Brenda. My dad and John were quite close as well and talked almost daily on the phone, and they gossiped like women! We actually started calling them the “gossip Kings”. My dad doesn’t say much but I know he’ll miss those phone calls!

It is still so hard to believe that John is gone. It was so good to see John and Kathy before John went into the hospital. We never know when we are needed more upstairs than we are needed here on earth. I will miss hearing Lee and John talking on the phone and the race to let the other one know they’d received their Trailer Life. We know that John is traveling with us wherever we go. Rest in peach dear one; my thoughts and prayers are with Kathy and the family! Sue and Lee Wells
