John Tony Pino Jr., aged 70, passed away on July 11, 2025, in Yakima, Washington. Born on June 7, 1955, John was known for his loving, passionate, and fearless nature. He was a brilliant and ingenious individual who cherished his roles as a son, brother, father, and grandfather. Family was the cornerstone of his life, and he was a steadfast friend to many.
John dedicated 30 years to the City of Seattle and the Seattle Police Department Harbor Patrol Unit, where he excelled as an Engine Machinist and Marine Servicer. His commitment to service was recognized with awards for Service Excellence. John was also a sworn-in civilian of the Harbor Patrol Unit. His educational journey included attending various technical colleges and trade schools after graduating from Chief Sealth High School in Seattle.
Outside of his professional life, John was a devout member of St. James Cathedral in Seattle. He was an enthusiastic hobbyist who enjoyed working in his shop, creating tools, and collecting art and toys. Gardening was another passion, and he took great pride in maintaining a joyful yard for his beloved pets.
John is survived by his wife, Grace Pino; sister, Jan Cooper and her husband, Tim; brother, James Pino and his wife, Dulce; daughter, Amber Dunn, her husband, Jack, and their daughters, Shyanne Rose and Luna Rose; son, John Anthony Pino and his daughter, Audrey; along with numerous other loving family members and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Tony Pino and Ruby Jewel Pino, his sister Judy Lucille Cooper and his late wife and first love, Janice Pino.
Sadness is an incomplete feeling for your loss. I will truly miss you!
To know John was to Love him. We were blessed when he married my sister Janice and twice blessed when he married Grace.
Although our paths had not crossed in many years, in our earlier vanning days, John was such a great friend to have for many years, and many shooters! I will cherish our memories always, be in peace my old friend, you will be missed.
My beloved Johnny, to the last heartbeat, I love you. We loved deeply and unconditionally. Eternally grateful for the love and life we have shared together and your gift of a big most loving family and dearest friends and families whose lives you have touched, all loved you. I know you did not mean to leave us all with broken hearts. You were always ahead of your time. I will catch up. In finding peace, there is to be done. Such a special and beautiful soul. His deep love and adoration for Grace was evident in every single encounter. Kind, wise, generous and caring; John is greatly missed.
