Josefina Caudal Guzman

Obituary

We deeply mourn the passing of Josefina Caudal Guzman – wife, mom, grandmother, sister, aunt, friend, “Ate”, and Jojie to all of us lovingly connected with her. Josefina was born in Manila, Philippines to Jose Lerma Caudal and Gloria Pozon Caudal, the second of their seven children and the eldest granddaughter of her generation. She grew up in a tightly knit family that included her beloved grandmother and aunts, and then graduated from Centro Escolar University and, as a working student, at the University of the East with a degree in commerce. She worked at Mayfair Theaters for many years, and later immigrated to the U.S. with her husband, Avelino “Billy” Guzman, and three children: Armin, Arnel and Anne. As a resident of Seattle and Renton, Josefina was our treasured “mother”, spending her precious time caring for us, attending to our needs, and tightly holding our families together in times of joy and struggle. She was also a devout devotee of the Santo Nino and the Virgin Mary, a faithful practitioner of Filipino values and traditions, an avid Bingo player, an accomplished cook and child caregiver, an affectionate mother-in-law to Maria, Lei, and Noy, and a most loving grandma to Madelynn, Noah, Sophia, Rylee, Alyvia, and Preston. We miss you and we will always remember you!

Viewing takes place on Thursday, August 12, 2021 from 5 pm to 8 pm, at Bonney Watson Funeral Home, 16445 International Blvd., Seatac, WA 98188. On Saturday, August 14, 2021, another viewing from 10 am to 11 am will take place, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11 am to noon, at St. George Catholic Church, 5306 13th Ave. S., Seattle, WA 98108
