53, Joe died much too soon – just 3 months after being diagnosed with brain cancer. His wife Michelle, son Keegan 20, and daughter Emerson 11, want you to remember his love of politics, NPR and his sense of humor.
Born in Spokane to Thomas and Madelyn Lynch; Joe was the youngest of seven John McGwire, Tom, Tim, Mary, Martha, and Laura Lynch. Joe graduated from Lewis and Clarke HS in 1970 and the University of Washington in 1976, with a BA in Society and Justice. He returned to Spokane to attend Gonzaga Law School, graduating Cum Laude in 1979.
Joe began practicing law in Spokane, was active in politics, and began his first old house renovation before returning to Seattle in 1989. For the past 15 years Joe was a criminal defense attorney for ACA in addition to teaching Introductory to Law at SCCC.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 31, at Bonney-Watson, 1732 Broadway. Remembrances may be made in Joe’s name to your local National Public Radio station.
