Obituary
Joseph Roy Bruce, age 89, passed away, July 21, 2008 in Burien. Roy is survived by his wife of 64 years, Mary; daughters, Frances Dearmin Brian, Anna Bruce and Jane Hansen Eric; 5 grandchildren, Mary Holmes Rick, Heather Pope, Doug Dearmin Lani, Todd Hansen Sara and Leif Hansen.
Roy was a Professional Engineer with Pacific Car and Foundry for whom he worked for 31 years before retiring in 1981. He was intricately involved with the Puget Sound Maritime Historical Society, serving over many years in such capacities as curator, membership secretary, museum docent, exhibit planning and installation, and building scale model ships.
Committal and Military honors will be held at Tahoma National Cemetery, Kent, WA on Friday, August 1st, 2008 at 2:30 pm with a reception to follow at BONNEY-WATSON Parker Chapel, 900 SW 146th Street, Burien, WA. Charitable contributions are asked to be made to the Puget Sound Maritime Historical Society and/or Providence Hospice of Seattle Foundation.
