Obituary
Josephine B. Vasilieff Age 87, died peacefully in her home on June 23, 2008, surrounded by the people, pets and things she loved best. Born on April 7, 1921 in Ketchikan, AK to Ole and Karen Henningson, she was the eldest of 3 daughters. Josephine graduated from Highline High School in 1937, and met and married Walt Vasilieff, her husband of 53 years, in 1941.
One of the Greatest Generation, Jo took care of the family while Walt served in the South Pacific during World War II. Josephine lived in her Seatac home for 60 years, where she lovingly tended her garden and raised their 5 children. She was a compassionate and caring person who touched many lives. The family wishes to thank all those visitors that came to see her and share their fond memories of her in the last weeks of her life. It was a true testament to how much she was loved by all. She would probably say to those left behind ‘I had a life of love and laughter, and many wonderful experiences so don’t fret, I am with the Lord in heaven and filled with joy and love.’ Preceded in death by husband Walter.
She is survived by her children Karen Vasilieff, Andy Vasilieff Kathy, Christine Hansen Bjorne, Ted Vasilieff, and Sonya Vasilieff, grandsons Mark Vasilieff, Chris Vasilieff Alison, granddaughter Andrea Pfeifle Lew, and great-granddaughters Natasha Ricci, Katie Pfeifle and Olivia Pfeifle.
