Obituary
In loving memory of our cherished Jovita “Lita” de Vera Novido, 81, of Seattle, WA (February 20, 1942 – July 13, 2023)
A beacon of love and joy. Lita graced the lives of those around her with warmth and kindness. Lita was a devoted wife, loving mother to three children, and a cherished grandmother to all four of her precious grandchildren. Her extended family, friends, and countless others were also touched by her affectionate presence.
She was the youngest of seven children. Despite losing her mother at a tender age of two, she found solace in the embrace of her maternal grandmother and aunt, her father, her sister, and her brothers, who nurtured her with boundless affection. Growing up, she was always surrounded by her family and large extended families whom she often talked about with loving fond memories. Lita’s pursuit of knowledge led her to earn a Bachelor’s Degree in Education, and she further enriched her life with studies in Culinary and Art. For three decades, she dedicated her talents to the Treasury Department in the City of Seattle, leaving a lasting mark on her colleagues and community.
Lita was involved with F.A.C.E.S. cultural dance group and the Pangasinan Association of the Pacific Northwest. Lita delighted in singing, dancing, cooking, drawing, sewing, knitting, and crocheting. Her ever-present smile and the ease with which she made friends everywhere she went was a testament to her heart-warming nature.
She was preceded in death by her six siblings. Let us remember her with fondness and gratitude for the beautiful memories she gifted us. She will always live in our hearts forever. May her legacy of love and joy continue to inspire us all.
