I am thankful that Alexis and I were able to share some time with Karen and other family members in July. My last remembrance of her was a friendly smile and a cheerful good bye. My mind goes back too to the day of JoEllen’s funeral, when Karen was a girl. Her example that day was one of strength and courage. She stood very tall for the rest of us.
