Karin and I were friends at Catherine Blaine Jr. High and on into high school @ Queen Anne. I knew her before she changed the spelling of her name from “Karen” to “Karin” :.

In 9th grade we went to see the Beatles when they came to Seattle, we were sophisticated 9th graders but I think we screamed alot w/the rest of the crowd! We were in choir together at Queen Anne with Mr. Brown, we lived w/in walking distance from each other in Magnolia and would sometimes on Saturdays meet at the bus stop and go downtown together to shop, listen to records and just be 13-14 year old girls. We were in the same car pool for several years to Q.A. Karin was a SMART girl, always got straight A’s, and was a good friend in those years!

I remember what a joy it was working with Karin in finding a place to buy when she moved back to Seattle several years ago. Her enthusiasm, positive outlook, boundless energy, and ready smile were infectious. As a new neighbor at Sunset West, her presence will be sorely missed.

We didn’t hear about Karen’s passing until after the memorial. We were good friends with Karen and her mom, years ago at Pacific Northwest Bell. Fond memories of Friday night bridge games .. and fishing trips! She will be missed.
