Katherine Edith Knoll (Jacobsen), aged 94, passed away on September 25, 2024, in Des Moines, Washington. Born on February 27, 1930, in Tacoma, Washington, she spent her formative years attending McKinley Elementary, Gault Middle School and Lincoln High School, both located in her hometown.

Katherine dedicated many years of her career to the Federal Way School District, initially serving in the Food Service department before transitioning to the Transportation Department, where she left a lasting impact.

A devout member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Katherine embodied her faith through her actions and dedication to her community. Her kindness and perpetual smile were her trademarks, making her a beloved figure among those who knew her.

Katherine’s passions included square dancing with her late husband Lawrence, knitting, sewing, and losing herself in a good book, activities that brought her great joy and fulfillment throughout her life.

She is survived by her daughter, Patti Knoll Green with husband Daniel Green, and son, Steven Knoll. She has 11 Grandchildren, with 11Great Grandchildren.

Katherine was preceded in death by her husband Lawrence Knoll, sons Larry and Tim Knoll, and daughter Kathie Lee Smith and her Great Granddaughter Ella.

The family has entrusted Bonney Watson in SeaTac, Washington with the funeral arrangements. Katherine will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, whose legacy of love and care will live on in the hearts of her family and all who knew her.
