Obituary
Kathryn Lavender Coulbourn passed away on June 14 at home in Black Diamond with her family nearby. Kit was born in 1939 in Atlanta. She graduated from Southern Seminary College in Buena Vista VA in 1959. She majored in and taught equitation. She was an accomplished rider and competitive jumper. She is survived by her husband George Irvin Coulbourn, Jr whom she met while attending college. They were married in 1960.
She is survived by her three children, Kathryn Coulbourn Mitchell who lives with her husband Joe in Redmond, George Irvin Coulbourn, III who lives with his wife Lesley and son John William in Black Diamond and John Craighead Coulbourn who lives with his wife Kim, son Price Irvin and daughter Hazel Mae in Maple Valley.
At her request, no services will be held. In consideration of her love of animals, contributions to the Seattle Humane Society would be welcomed.

Gosh Kit we miss you. We can hear your laugh. That bromeliad you gave us last time you visited has tripled in size. You were loved, immensely, the best tribute of all.
It’s been better than a year now since you lost Kit and over 50 years since the photo above was snapped BUT I remember that day like it was yesterday. That was an exciting time & Kit fit right into our “Coulbourn Girl” family. I think of her often – mostly when the topic of conversation centers around dogs and/or horses. Kit has a special spot in many a heart.
