Kaylene Grace Hess passed away peacefully Wednesday May 31, 2017 in Buckley Washington. Kaylene was born March 26, 1934 in Wenatchee, Washington to Frank and Violet Lusk. Kaylene grew up in Puyallup, Washington graduating from Puyallup High School in 1952. A week after she graduated High School Kaylene married James Hess and moved to Auburn Washington where they raised their family of 5 children; Richard, Jamie, Kim, Jodie and Keith. Aside from raising her children, Kaylene worked in medical clinics.
Kaylene loved to travel and traveled with her husband James around the world. Kaylene enjoyed going to casinos and particularly enjoyed Keno and Bingo. Kaylene was very social and made friends everywhere she went. She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. From her Children she was gifted several grandchildren and great grandchildren. When her husband, James retired, they sold their longtime home in Auburn, WA. They moved to the “Land Yacht Harbor” in Lacey, WA, purchased an airstream travel trailer and participated into many “caravans” traveling around the country. They also purchased a park model home in Apache Junction, AZ splitting time between Washington and Arizona.
Kaylene was preceeded in death by her loving husband James, her parents, son Keith Hess, and grand daughter Cari Laeuger.
Kaylene is survived by her son Richard Hess, daughters; Jamie Laeuger, Kim Jones, and Jodie Curtis, her grand children Matthew Laeuger, Jeffrey Laeuger, Cassandra Laeuger, Joshua Jones, Ericka Gress, Chelsi Gress, Cameron Curtis and Amarie Ward. And Kaylene was very loved by her great grandchildren; Dani-Rae, Charleigh, Lucy, Presley, Andrew, Braeden, Brinkley, Lucas, and Benaiah.
