Kee Wah Chung
January 11, 1971 - January 14, 2019
Obituary
Kee Wah was born in Hong Kong on January 11, 1971 and soon thereafter his family moved to Washington state and eventually settled in Federal Way. He graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School, and continued on to obtain an MBA, BS and BA in Business Management, Sociology and Building Construction from the University of Washington.
Kee Wah was married to Shauna on August 9, 2009 after they met and fell in love while both worked at Microsoft.
Kee Wah was known for his humor, always a quick wit and he never shied from doing whatever it took to get a laugh. He put people at ease with his humor and made sure everyone was smiling and laughing. His 15-minutes of fame came first when he won Wheel of Fortune, followed by a stellar performance at the talent show on one of the many cruises he took with Shauna and his family. As a generous man with a huge heart, Kee Wah was always first to extend a helping hand offering whatever was needed, which is one reason why he was surrounded by lifelong, forever friends.
Kee Wah is survived by Shauna, his three young children, Katelynn, Keelan and Riker, his sisters Amy and Judy, and extended loving family and a very extensive group of friends.
Kee Wah is preceded in death by his mother, Kim T. Chung, who passed just 11 days before Kee Wah, his father Chang Chung, his brother Jeffrey Chung.
The family wishes to thank the staff and parents of Camelot Elementary School for their caring generosity, his co-workers, past and current, the folks at Bonney-Watson for helping to make the process smoother for Shauna, and for all his wonderful friends who showed up at Harbor View to provide support and love for Shauna in her time of need, to help with the children through this emotional and hectic time, and who held her hand throughout the sudden and devastating loss of the love of her life and father of her precious children.
Our hearts go out to you and your family, Shauna. You are all in our prayers. May Kee Wah rest in peace. He was an incredible person.
May your souls Rest In Peace
We loss a kind, funny, loving man too soon.. Thoughts and prayers to Shauna and their children.
Kee Wah and I never met in person. He interviewed and hired me at eXp Realty. The phone interview was supposed to last 15 minutes or less, but we clicked and talked for almost an hour. He was a very kind and considerate person and a great boss. I enjoyed working with him and my only regret is that I did not get to know him better. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Shauna and the children during this most difficult time. May you find peace in the Lord.
I have lost not just a good friend but a brother as well. I would never forget Kee Wah and his family for all the kindness they have done to me and for treating me not just a caretaker of his mom but as a family too. I am fortunate to have known and worked with them for her mom. He is an amazing and truly loving son to her mom, a good provider and loving father, a man with full of sense of humor, a loving and caring husband to Shauna. He will do everything for his family. From the bottom of my heart thank you very much for all your goodness and your family. You are now in the hands of the Lord. May you Rest In Peace.
Words seem useless here. So many memories of laughter and good times with KeeWah. The world has lost a truly amazing soul.
I worked with Kee Wah for several years at Microsoft EBC. He was creative, intelligent and exceeded expectations on every task assigned regardless of the complexity. But most of all, he was fun loving and a great friend to everyone at the EBC. I am heartbroken to know he has left this earth much too soon. My deepest condolences to Shauna and his children as he watches over you from Heaven.
My deepest condolences to the entire family for you loss. We will be praying for you comfort and needs during tbis time if grief.
My heart breaks. I worked with him at Microsoft EBC and the Polycome EC…
He was the best boss. This is so heartbreaking.
*hugs* to his family and all that knew him.
This is very sad. I had just wished Kee Wah happy birthday last week and we exchanged a quick message. I can never think of the EBC without thinking about Kee Wah and always willing to chat or help with a problem. We even went through an earthquake in building 33 not long after it opened. I remember once asking him about a visit to China with his family and how was his Mandarin during his stay. He told me he understood the language okay but was fairly surprised on his visit when he believed he was being asked by his grandmother to walk the family goat. He wasn’t sure if this was the inside joke played on the visiting relative but he found himself walking the goat by a leash down the road. Even if it was a joke, he was willing to play along. He was kind, funny and he will be missed. I’m sorry for your loss
Like so many of Kee Wah’s friends and colleagues, I was shocked and saddened to learn the news of his sudden passing. I became acquainted with Kee Wah through our industry association, ABPM, and then later when we worked together at Polycom. I admired Kee Wah for his professionalism, leadership qualities, intelligence, problem-solving capabilities and quick wit, but what I remember most was his humility and compassion for others. He always tried to find the best outcome for everyone around him. Kee Wah will be missed. May God give comfort to his family at this very sad time.
During the short time that I knew you, wow, what a positive impact you had on my life. Your kindness and willingness to always lend a helping hand is a perfect example to us all. I will always have fond memories of karaoke fun and some great conversation. You will be dearly missed, my friend.
Kee Wah was one of the kindest people I have ever met, and in any situation could put a smile on his face, and those of others. No task was too big, and no burden too great, and the world has lost one of the best ones. He will be missed immensely by everyone who had the pleasure of meeting him, including me, and will be smiling down offering his humor, encouragement, and protection to his family who were his world. I am so sorry for your loss.
Dear Shauna and family,
Our hearts go out to you at this sudden and unexpected loss of your husband, father, brother, and friend.
Kee Wah and I met through the ABPM and through the work Mandel did at the Microsoft EBC when Kee Wah was there.
As others have said, he was very smart, hard-working, and caring. He brightened the room whenever he walked in, and his sense of humor put everyone at ease.
Although we haven’t seen each other for several years, we occasionally traded messages. Shauna, I know you are the love of his life, and his children are his joy.
May you find comfort in the love and support of friends and family at this time, and in the memories of your all-too-short time together.
With love and prayers,
Kathleen

It is with a heavy heart I lost a friend and mentor that had shown great thoughtfulness at every intersection. Always seeking the next right step, collaboration and blessed with a natural Choice of Words seeking to understand before being understood. The support and clarity and humor was always intertwined with family and love – such a huge part of our life is living while loving and KeeWah always led with family!
Kee Wah was one of the best bosses for whom I’ve had the pleasure to work. He will be missed! Praying for the family left behind.
