Obituary
Ken was born in Seattle on July 12, 1920. He passed away on July 11, one day short of his 86th birthday, at The Right Place, The Right Time, an adult family home. He was preceded in death by his mother, Lola Pumphrey and his stepfather Bill Johnson.
Ken lived in West Seattle his entire life graduating from Broadway High School in 1938. He retired from the US postal Service. Served in the US Army, stationed in Alaska the late 1940’s. Previous to his illness, he was active in the Retired Letter Carriers Association. He was a lifetime member of the Pioneers Club and a lifetime member of the American Legion. “Lefty” enjoyed fishing and photography in addition to his many club activities. He was a member of the Fauntleroy Church, UCC.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Dorothy. They had no children but enjoyed several beloved dogs in their West Seattle home. Ken was good natured and easy going and will be missed by numerous friends.
Viewing will be held on July 17 from 2pm to 8pm at Washington Memorial. Services will be on Tuesday 18 at 2pm.
