Kenneth John Light passed away peacefully on Friday, August 8, 2025, in Federal Way, Washington, surrounded by his loving wife and children.

Born in Salt Lake City, Utah, on May 6, 1945, Ken lived a life marked by service, dedication, and deep love for his family. He graduated from Granger High School and proudly served in the United States Air Force, stationed in Thailand during the Vietnam Conflict.

Following his military service, Ken pursued higher education, earning a Manufacturing Engineering degree from Brigham Young University and a master’s degree in Project Management from the University of Southern California. Over the course of his career, Ken worked for Boeing, Hercules, American Towers, Volvo, and several other companies, contributing his expertise and passion for engineering to a variety of projects and industries.

Ken was preceded in death by his parents, Cleo and John Light. He is survived by his devoted wife, Polly Mackey; his brother, Dick Light; and his sister, Deann Higley.

He was a loving father to four children from his previous marriage to Christina Hanson: Anna Fisk, married to Chris Fisk; Scott Light, married to Amalia Light; Mark Light, married to Jessica Light; and Julie Dawson, married to John Dawson. He also embraced Polly’s children, Barbara Neufeld, married to Thomas Neufeld and John Winkle, married to Terra Winkle, as part of his extended family.

Ken was a proud grandfather to Rachel Pedranti (married to Robin Pedranti), with children Roman and Dominic Pedranti; Timothy Fisk; Elizabeth Fisk; Mark Fisk (married to Angelina Fisk); Brock Light (married to Morgan Light), with child Easton Light; Aundrea Hopper (married to Kaden Hopper); Seth Light; Miles Gonzalez (married to Alondra), with child Bella Gonzalez; Jeanette Light; Rebekah Light; Isaac Light; Caleb Light; Jacob Dawson (married to Jenna Dawson); Jarod Dawson; Johnathan Dawson; and Joshua Dawson; Mercedes Collier (married to Derrick Collier) with children Samantha and David Collier; Zachary Wulff; Amber Winkle; Kyle Winkle; Emiliee Winkle; and Josh Winkle.

Ken found joy in skiing, woodworking, canoeing, building things, spending time with his family, and helping others. He and Polly made it a goal to attend their grandchildren’s high school graduations and weddings, celebrating each milestone with love and pride. His generous spirit and love of life touched everyone who knew him. In recent years, he faced numerous medical challenges with courage and grace, supported every step of the way by Polly, his loving and devoted wife and caregiver.

Kenneth’s life was a testament to resilience, kindness, and the enduring power of family. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 15, 2025, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints meetinghouse, located at 34815 Weyerhaeuser Way South, Federal Way, Washington 98001-9578. All are warmly invited to attend and celebrate the life of Kenneth Light. Floral tributes are welcome.
