Obituary

Kenneth Ralph Kirkpatrick, the youngest of 4 boys, was born to Bruce Grant Kirkpatrick and Elizabeth Gladys Kirkpatrick in Burgettstown, Pennsylvania ~ December 15, 1923.

He went to live in Daytona Beach, Florida with his mother and grandmother in 1939.  He graduated from Mainland High School 1942 and enlisted in the U. S. Airforce in 1943 where he served in the Pacific Theatre with the 20th Airforce Bombardment wing under General Emmet O’Donnell as a B29 flight engineer at Saipan.  He was honorably discharged in 1945 in Seattle Washington.

 He married the love of his life ~ Phyllis Jayne Hedeen June 14, 1946.   He graduated from Seattle University in 1950 as a Civil Engineer.  He then entered the construction industry and served as an estimator, project engineer and chief engineer for over 45 years for several construction contractors including General Construction, BoesPflug Construction, Howard S Wright, Chris Berg, Wright Schucart  Harbor, Halverson Osborn and Osborn Construction Co, retiring in  1995.  He was predeceased by his dearly beloved wife Phyllis Jayne and survived by his two sons:  Kenneth Michael Kirkpatrick – retired President of US Bank (wife SaSa) and Mark John Kirkpatrick ~ Operating Engineer at Gary Merlino Construction Co (wife Paula Grace) and four grandchildren:  Michael (wife Marie) and Tina (husband Shon Atabaki),  Bison and Anngela (husband Travis Olson ).
