Obituary

Larry E. Hottell Born 09/14/1940 in Curlew, Washington passed away 09/23/2023 at his home in Burien, Washington.

Larry was a devoted Washington Husky fan enjoying many home games for over 25 years, and followed the team to away games in Spokane, Eugene, Berkley, and the Rose Bowl to name a few. 

Larry served in the US Army from November 1959 until August 1962 after which he began working in many different fields. The majority of his employment with the Standard Oil company for many years managing service stations. He spent his last 8 years working for the Boeing Company as a machinist until retiring. After retiring at age 53, he spent almost 30 years enjoying time as an owner of racehorses with his family and was especially doting over his great grandchildren the last several years.  

Surviving relatives: 

Son: Larry D. Hottell, Daughter: Corrinne I Criss, Son: Miles D. Hottell, Son in Law, Dennis Criss

Brothers: Lee Hottell, Rex Hottell, Sister: Bonita Cheshier Seymour and their spouses.

4 Grandchildren, 2 Great Grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Larry is being buried next to his beloved father Orley Davis “Jake” Hottell on Saturday October 7th at Washington Memorial Park in a private ceremony.

I will miss you very much. I enjoyed our visits and the things you shared about your childhood. I will forever have those memories in my heart and look back fondly on the relationship we developed in our later years. Love you Dad

I will forever miss you grandpa. I’m so glad my girls got to spend quality time with you hearing stories about your childhood, and young adult life. I’m so glad we all got to spend time with you, visiting and reminiscing about our childhood memories with you. We will all miss you greatly and love you you forever.
