Obituary
Larry was born May 30, 1947, in Lewistown, Montana. He spent the first 5 years of his life in Montana and then the family moved to Seattle. He graduated from Highline High School Class of 1965. After high school, Larry went to Highline College, but left after a year or so and joined the Marines on December 16, 1966. He served two tours of duty in Vietnam and left the Marines on March 2, 1970.
After the Marines, Larry stayed in California for college and work. In the mid-1970’s, Larry moved back to the greater Seattle area where he stayed for the rest of his life, retiring from Boeing after 30 plus years.
Larry’s favorite, and last home, was up in Mukilteo where he had a 180-degree view of the water. He loved his home and his private space.
As Larry’s dementia grew more pronounced, he moved to Aegis of Redmond in June, 2022. Larry enjoyed the view of the Sammamish slough from his apartment. Larry also liked to sit outside and people watch. And when weather permitted, he would take walks with the Aegis folks.
He was predeceased by his parents Robert A. and Elsiea M. MacKinnon and his sister, Sharon E. MacKinnon. Larry is survived by his sisters Roberta MacKinnon (Paul Weibel), Kimberly Lester (Steven) and Patricia Boggs (Scott). As well as his nephews Josh Lester, Andrew Lester (Amanda Guerrero), Matt Lester, niece Ray Boggs, great nieces Violet Lester, Gracie Guerrero and his great nephew Boden Guerrero and numerous cousins.
