Obituary
Laura Renee Templin
Laura Renee Templin age 29, passed away Thursday October 11th 2012 surrounded by her family.
Laura was born on January 6th 1983, in her family home in Federal Way, WA. She was raised in Federal Way, attended Adelaide Elementary and Lakota Jr. High before she was home schooled so she could pursue her dream of figure skating. Laura worked at many jobs such as Nordstrom, Starbucks, Budget Car Rental, and the Kent Valley Ice Center. Laura met her “smooch” Kyle Hendrickson 14 years ago when they were just 16. She adored Kyle and for many years they remained friends until they eventually ended up together again 10 years later. Laura grew up with a love for Bugs Bunny & Woody Woodpecker (often times you would hear her mimic Woody), Sonic games her with dad, sleepovers with neighborhood kids (Lego’s & cars!) and harassing her older sisters. As Laura became older she developed a love for ice skating which led her to competing in CA, WA, OR and CO and eventually onto coaching young kids. Laura made many friends through the ice skating circle that she thought the world of.
She was a scrapbooker, beader, glass collector (Glass bulbs/ Swarovski), storm watcher, star gazer (look at the moon!), Golden Girls/Seinfeld watcher (Vandelay Industries!), a low-rider driver (Chevy only!), and daily cup of Sunshine drinker (Starbucks). Laura loved driving her truck listening to music (with Mom) and taking in the summer breeze (Summery Green-yes she named it!).
Even with the struggles Laura faced she always maintained a humorous attitude in her interactions with people, she had smile like no other, and a kindness that was felt by everyone. She will be missed by the individuals who had the chance to know her and they will always hold Laura
near and dear in their hearts.
Laura is preceded in death by her sisters Diana Templin and Teresa Blohowiak and mother Carolynn Templin. Laura is survived by her father Max Templin and sister Paulette Templin. A private celebration of Laura’s life will be held at family home. For questions please contact the family.
The family suggests remembrances in Laura’s name to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation http://www.cff.org/.
Dear Max, Paulette & Family,
We are so sorry to hear of Laura’s passing. Please know our thoughts are with you at this time of great sadness.
Sending love and prayers, Gloria & Gary
I am very sorry to hear of Laura’s passing. She wrote beautiful letters to me during sad times in my life even though I never met her. She was a friend of my sister, Paula Dinius. I am sending you my thoughts and prayers during this sad time.
I am so sorry to hear about Laura’s passing. I was her kindergarten teacher at Adelaide. Carolyn helped out in my classroom so much. Laura was a precious little girl.
My heart sank to hear of this loss.
Laura had been one of my close’s friends when we were younger.
My thoughts and prayers go out to the family.
She was someone who had a very beautiful light about her.
Be strong knowing she is in peace now.
I have so many memories of Laura that I will forever cherish. She was such a great friend and I loved her very much. I will never forget Laura and the impact she had on my life. I will keep her in my heart always.
Dear Max and Family,
When I heard this sad news ,the tears started flowing. All I could see was Laura looking at me with those laughing eyes. The pain of losing her will last forever. But the thing to remember is not only the pain will last, but the blessed memories as well.Being a nurse,’ve learned circumstances or people can take away our material possessions, they can take away our loved one, and they can take away our health. But no one can ever take away our precious memories.
Laura, my brave patient …you will always be my angle wathing over me as I take care of people like you every single day!
You’ll be missed!
Max & Paulette,
I was so saddened to hear of Laura’s passing. I have many fond memories of driving in the car with her and Carolynn on the way to Sprinker Ice Center on all of those early, cold Saturday mornings, and being so excited to stop for cheeseburgers at McDonald’s (with a cup of pickles on the side) after our practice sessions. We loved watching figure skating on TV together, playing with Tigger the cat and sorting through all the jewels in Laura’s crystal collection. I am so sorry for the loss of your beautiful daughter and sister and will be keeping your family in my thoughts.
