Laurence Ronald Ellis
Laurence was born December 18, 1911 in Fenton, IA. He died April 5, 2004 in Renton, WA at the age of 92 years. He grew up in Wright, MN and raised his family in Duluth, MN. He married Dora Moline in 1935 and they were happily married for 58 years. He was a loving husband and father. Laurence served in the US Army during WWII and received a Purple Heart. He retired from the US Postal Service in 1973 and moved to Packwood, WA. He was active in his church and community. He leaves a legacy of kindness, compassion, strong faith in God, patience, and fantastic humor. Beloved father of Gerald Ellis of Seattle, WA; Dale Kathy Ellis of Renton, WA; Judy Stock of Seattle, WA; Herb Alice Ellis of Seattle, WA; Marilyn Gary McLaughlin of Kent, WA; Barbara Denny Newton of Renton, WA; Stephen Ellis of Duluth, MN; Peggy Charlie Swanson of Canyon, MN and David Sandra Ellis of Orting, WA. He was loved by 31 grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren. Laurence was preceded in death by his wife Dora Ellis in 1993 and an infant son Roger Ellis. Laurence was the last survivor of 6 siblings. Visitation Tuesday, 4:00 – 8:00 PM and Wednesday, 9:00 – 11:00 AM with a Graveside Service at 11:00 AM all at BONNEY-WATSON Washington Memorial, 16445 International Blvd. SeaTac 206 242-1787. Memorial Service will follow at 1:00 PM at St. Matthews Lutheran Church, 1700 Edmonds Ave., Renton.
