Obituary
Le Roy A. Balster, age 70, died peacefully at his home on Friday, June 29th, 2012. Le Roy is survived by his mother, Eleanor Balster; stepson, Joe McElrea (Carolyn); stepdaughter, Maureen Williams; grandchildren, Lisa, Patrick and Christopher; great-grandchildren, Madison, Olivia and David Anthony; brother, Harold Balster (Colleen) and (3) nieces and a nephew. He was preceded in death by his wife Marian in 2006.
Leroy was a good friend,, neighbor and the best fishing buddy. When we drove past his house he would be working either on his yard or in his garage. He would stop and always had a wave and a smile to give to his neighbors.
LeRoy & Teri became aquainted a few years ago. Since he resided in Ocean Shores, I introduced him to my parents Jim & Donna Janner…who also resided in Ocean Shores. Throughout the years we remained close, especially with my folks. I will truly miss our LeRoy, for he was such a great friend and man. He will never be forgotten and always be in my heart.
“Going Broke Slowly” … that’s what LeRoy would claim every time someone asked ‘how ya doing?” when he came into Levee Lumber. We will miss his sly grin, quick wit, and deep voice. He was a geniunely friendly guy, and talked fondly and often of his family. We will miss him… A LOT.
LeRoy has been a wonderful friend to our family for many years. He previously worked with Henry and Kevin Holmberg, and has been a family friend ever snce then. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and we always enjoyed his visits and conversation. When our brother, Kevin passed on 9/14/2010, due to an accident with a Case backhoe, he had been talking with LeRoy about getting parts just before the accident. LeRoy came out to the property and repaired the parts so that we could move the backhoe back home. The neighbors asked him about some other machinery issues, but he said that he was retired, and was only there to help our his friend, Kevin and his family. LeRoy’s kindness was much appreciated during our time of loss. His passing in June of 2012 seems far too sudden and he will be missed very much. We are so sorry that we just learned of LeRoy’s passing today. You are in our hearts and prayers.
