Leanna Jones

Obituary
Leanna Thompson Jones was the only child of Romy Fraizer and Willie Mae Stevenson born July 16, 1928 in Minden, Louisiana. She was raised by her maternal grandparents living in Shady Grove, Oakdale and Winnfield, Louisiana before relocating to Seattle, Washington in 1953. She was a member of Goodwill Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Norman Mitchell for a number of years where she sang in the gospel choir. She later joined New Hope Missionary Baptist where she served on the Mother’s Board and remained a faithful member until her death. She was employed by Swedish Hospital in the Housekeeping Department for thirty years until her retirement.
An outspoken and generous woman she loved the Lord and her family including her dog Buddy.
Mother Jones enjoyed Sunday School, crocheting, cooking for family gatherings and watching games shows on television especially Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune.
Mother Jones leaves to cherish her memory and continue her legacy four daughters, Vera Jenkins, Dorothy Vaughn (Charles), Yvonne Williams (Louis), and Elaine Calloway (Clifton) three sons, Marion, Wilbert, and Michael, nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren, She is survived by several cousins in Chicago and Louisiana. She was preceded in death by her son Tommy Thompson and husband Emanuel Jones.
