Leila Julia Green/Willgress passed away peacefully at her home in Kent WA on November 24, 2014 at the age of 86. Leila, the youngest of three children, was born on June 20, 1928 in Bellingham, WA to George and Eugenia Riel. During her life, Leila lived in a number of towns including Renton, WA, where she graduated from Renton High School and lived most of her life.
Leila married William “Buck” Green on June 30, 1946. During her marriage to Buck, she raised her three children, attended and participated in her children’s school activities and maintained her household while working full time, eventually retiring from the Boeing Airplane Company. Leila and Buck shared many common interests and together were actively involved in square dancing, golf and travel. Leila and Buck were married over 51 years when Buck passed away in 1997.
Leila married Edwin R. Willgress on June 8, 2001. With Ed by her side, Leila traveled to numerous foreign and domestic destinations. Leila enjoyed seeing different parts of the world and experiencing various cultures first hand. Leila and Ed were married for 5 years when Ed passed away.
Leila’s was an active member of the local PTA while her children were in school including holding the position of Vice-President. Leila was also a member of the National Square Dancing Club and Viewpoint Golf Association, holding the office of President of the Women’s 9 hole Golf League. Leila will be remembered as a strong woman with deep convictions who had a word of advice for everyone she met.
Leila is survived by her three children; Norman (Cynthia), Jackie and Gary, her grandchildren Tanya, Scott, Shawn, Lisa, Michelle and Kayla; and her great grandchildren Madison, Max, Avery and Isabella.
A service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, December 8, 2014 at Washington Memorial Park, 16445 International Boulevard, SeaTac, WA.
A gathering to celebrate Leila’s life will be held at the recreation hall of Lake Wilderness Villa Estates, 24100 221st Place SE, Maple Valley, WA following the services.

So sory for your loss. Your Mom was a very special woman. She was a good friend to my Mother before & after we lost our Dad. Leila & Buck shared the same wedding anniversary as my parents & I remember them going out together to celebrate. I also have many warm memories of square dancing with them & playing in Pentiction. I’m so sorry she is gone. She was a great gal and will be missed by everyone. I’ll never forget the wonderful times Sy and I had with Buck and her when they were taking their square dance lessons, and later when they started the Jet Steppers.
