Obituary

Lena M. Smith NIXON
Lena MacBeth Smith Nixon was born May 12, 1916 in Rushville, MO. She died peacefully surrounded by loved ones January 11, 2008. Lee moved to Kent, WA in 1940 and worked in the Picsweet and Libby canneries. She was a Rosie-the-Riveter during WW II, then attended Maler Beauty School in Seattle. She loved cutting hair and giving perms. In 1951, she started work at Boeing and retired 10 years later. A beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, she loved little children and spent countless hours making doll clothes and stuffed animals for the needy every Christmas season. Lee was preceded in death by her daughter Sandra Hamer, and the brothers and sisters she adored. She is survived by her husband Walt Nixon of Kent, WA; daughter, Judi Osborne, and husband, Tom Osborne, of Kent, WA; granddaughter, April Osborne, and husband, Rick McKenna, of Seattle, WA; granddaughter, Megan Osborne, and husband, Mark Hession, of Lakeland, TN; and great-grandchildren Jake, Kellen, and Joshua. Lee loved her family dearly and was always there for us. We will carry her memory and love in our hearts forever. Good-bye our Angel on Earth — you are loved forever.
