I met LeRoy about 2 years ago during a reunion of his USS Ticonderoga shipmates, which included my husband, Larry. LeRoy had contacted my mother-in-law with an old phone number Larry had given him 30 years ago when LeRoy left the ship. She in turn got him in touch with us. I have a feeling that LeRoy never knew a stranger because he and I talked for many an hour over the internet My husband is not much of a computer buff, but he would lean over my shoulder and read while LeRoy and I conversed… informing each other what had transpired over the last 3 decades. It was a great pleasure meeting him in person a few months later. In the short time I knew LeRoy I feel I was blessed having him as a friend. I will sorely miss his emails and his IM’s!! I feel anyone knowing him is all the better for it.

Our deepest sympathy,

Larry and Pam Longacre

It’s not good bye, it’s till we met again!

I was just reunited 2 years ago with LeRoy and many of the Beverly Park Tavern friends since 1976. It was LeRoy who organized the reunion to get us all together.

We have so many friends that have gone before us. I am confident that there is a place for each of us when we arrive. Many, many friends from the Beverly Park alone. I met them all some 30 years ago. It’s as if they are going ahead first to make us welcome when it’s our time.

LeRoy has always been a special friend, and I know that he has a place in each of our hearts.

My prayers are with you!

I love you LeRoy!

Dearest Leroy,

We want others to know how thoughtful you were and how you touched all our hearts with you written words and presence. For my grandparents, the weekly visits were joyful. Grandma and Darel looked forward to your “quick stops” on tuesdays when you delivered on the pennisula. Darel wants to say thank you for your patiance in teaching him how to use his computer. Leroy was not selfish with his time and always willing to help family and friends especially learning how to communicate using the computer even if that ment giving advise in Yuma, AZ.

We love you, and you will be missed but your memory will live with us daily. May the lord renite you with your parents so you can celebrate together and watch over us. Bye for now, Tammy, Babe & Darel.

I have been fortunate to have had Leroy as a dear friend since 1963. No matter how far away his friends are, he’s always been able to bridge the gap. He was always the one to take charge and help anyone he possibly could. My very deepest sympathy to his family and extended family,Patti and Selma. He could not have been more loved.

Truely,

Bob & Barb Amick

LeRoy was a great guy — from the roudy early years when we were all “young” to some 30+ years later when we have “matured” — sort of! We love you LeRoy. Yesterday was a great testiment to how many friends and loved ones you have touched throughout the years.

LeRoy was a special person and friend. We will miss him dearly. Especially his presence and PT on all our cruises that he led us on without ever getting lost and the enjoyment of his company at all the events we were able to participate on with him.

Len and I will miss our cruising buddy. If it wasn’t for LeRoy leading the pack and keeping touch by cell phone, in Issaqua, going to the XXX, our Kitsap Cruisers would have been totally lost.

LeRoy joined our PT Cruiser club, the Kitsap Cruisers,in 2003. Len and I first met LeRoy in Poulsbo in 2001 at the Viking Fest car show.

Rest peacefully.
