Obituary

LeRoy Louis Andrus, born February 11, 1938 in Seattle, WA to Hiram and Mildred Andrus; passed peacefully at his home on July 8, 2008. A truly and beautiful soul has gone home. LeRoy loved old movies, and was so knowledgeable about them. He loved his kitties, and he loved emailing his many friends near and far. They were his true family and sustained him during the toughest times in his life. LeRoy once taught school on Prince Edward Island, and worked many years for Pacific NW Bell/US West in Seattle. He lived in Auburn and Tacoma, WA in his early years, attended Auburn Academy, Walla Walla College, and moved back to Tacoma, WA after his retirement from the phone company. He loved to read and had an appreciation for art, amassing an impressive collection of books and prints. He leaves behind a sister, Lois Sims of Olalla, WA, brothers, Richard Andrus of Graham, WA, Fred Andrus, many cousins including Eunice Besser, Eunice Gamez, Larry Gleason, Debbie Biwersi, Yon, and Herman Wyandt, and friends beyond measure. A celebration of his life will be held in the courtyard of his apartment at 418 North M St., Tacoma, WA 98403 at 6:30 pm, Monday July 21, 2008.
