Obituary
Lillian Marie Oslund
January 11, 1938 – April 11, 2004
Heaven gained an angel on April 11, 2004 when our beloved wife, mother, grandma and friend left this earth. Lillian fought lung cancer as she lived her life…with strength, a positive attitude, courage, a sense of humor and dignity. During her 66 years she lived life to the fullest. She enjoyed getting involved with the community, volunteering for several organizations; delivering meals to homebound elderly, teaching ESL to adults, and doing laundry for the homeless. Lillian enjoyed nature, stopping to point out different flowers and birds. Her and her husband, Gene, enjoyed traveling to Italy, Palm Springs, and Phoenix, among other places. Rooting on the Mariners and Seahawks was also a favorite pastime. But most of all she loved her family. There was nothing she wouldn’t do for them. She touched so many with her compassion and unconditional love and always thought of others first, even throughout her illness. A person like her comes along once in a lifetime and we are lucky to have called her wife, mother and grandmother.
Lillian was preceded in death by her father, Albert Ervin, her mother, Luella Ervin and brother, Al Ervin. She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Gene Ostlund; daughter and son-in-law, Andrea and Kevin Britt; son and daughter-in-law, Chris and Barbara Ostlund; treasured granddaughter, Isadora Britt; brother and sister-in-law, Phil and Louise Ervin; sister, Frieda Swindler; sister-in-law, Carol Ervin; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service in celebration of Lillian’s life will be held at Grace Lutheran Church, 22975 24th Avenue South, Des Moines, WA 98198 on Friday, April 16th at 1 pm. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Lillian’s name to Senior Center of West Seattle Meals on Wheels, www.seniorservices.org/sc/westseattle.asp or Alliance for Lung Cancer Advocacy, Support, Education, www.alcase.org. Arrangements by BONNEY-WATSON Washington Memorial, 16445 International Blvd. SeaTac 206 242-1787.
We will miss and love you forever, until someday we meet again.
