Lina “Angela” PAPINI
Born November 12, 1925 in Taranta Peligna, Province of Abruzzi, Italy. Went to be with our Lord on June 28, 2014. Preceded in death by her beloved husband of 63 years, Umberto. Beloved mother of Carlo (Angela), Luciano, Nick (Marilyn), and Dino (Kym); grandmother of Angela, Anthony, Giancarlo, Laura, Danielle, Liana, Iva, Sofia, Giulia, and Cristiano; great-grandmother of Jaden, Keagan, Giana, and Luca; and sister of Lucia. She was preceded in death by her brother Ernesto.
Following WWII, Lina met and married the love of her life, Umberto. In 1956, Lina, Umberto, and their family immigrated to Seattle. She enjoyed cooking, entertaining, gardening, and crocheting, but especially enjoyed the legacy of her growing family. Her example as a dedicated wife and loving mother will be missed by us all.
Funeral Mass 11:00 AM Tuesday, July 8, 2014 at St. Stephen the Martyr Catholic Church, 13055 SE 192nd Street, Renton, WA.
To the Papini family, my sincerest condolences, thoughts and prayers on the passing of your mom, grandma, aunt, etc. It is so difficult to lose the “glue” of the family, the one who was always there to listen, to offer a helping hand, dry a tear, give a hug. The wonderful Italian dinners that can never quite be replicated, but always remembered with fondness and a full tummy. There are really no words to express the loss of someone so special. Know that you are in my prayers. She is in Heaven and will always watch over all of you. Love to all.
Dear Carlo. Luce, Nick, Dino and all your families;
We are so sorry to hear about Lina’s passing. She was a true lady and a pleasure to have known her. She had a wonderful full life and you can be very proud to have had her for your Mother for so many years.
Love to all, from Ralph and Sharon Barrea
To Nick and Marilyn and all of the Papini Family
Losing a parent is always a painful experience that lasts for the rest of your lives. I hope that the pain subsides and the joy of the memories of your Mother replaces that pain.
May God bless you all at this trying time and always.
Take care,
