Obituary

Linda was born October 9, 1942 in Chilliwack, BC; she died April 4, 2012 at Swedish Hospital in Seattle after a courageous fight with cancer.She is survived by her sisters Anne and Joan, her husband of 46 years, Chris, and  sons David and Mark and their families.  After graduating from the University of British Columbia she became a stewardess with United Air Lines, and was based in Denver and Seattle.  She also worked on the ground for Air Canada and Cathay Pacific.  Chris’ work with Boeing took the family to live in London for eight years where they formed many enduring friendships.  After returning to Seattle in 1983, Linda and Chris travelled around the world in connection with his job, making several friends. She  particularly enjoyed being “Granny” to her six grandchildren. She also loved her cats, the boats “Martini” and “Flying Colors,” doing needlepoint, solving crosswords, and shopping for bargains, often for others.  She was well known for her generosity and kindness, and had a wonderful sense of humor.  Her courage and strength throughout her life were an inspiration to all who knew her.   A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm, Saturday, April 14, at Bonney Watson, 16445 International Boulevard, SeaTac 98188.  Memorial donations can be made in her honor to ChildFund International in lieu of flowers.

Linda was such a ray of sunshine in my life. She was never anything but kind and encouraging to me and she will be greatly missed.

I’m so sad I won’t be able to see my friend anymore. Linda was such a wonderful, positive, funny woman. She will surely be missed by many. Lots of love & peace to her family and many friends.

Few women allow their husbands to bring home co-workers and in turn embrace them as extended family. Linda was one of them.

The world just got a little less cheery.

Linda was a kind and loving person. I will miss her so much.
