Lloyd Carlton Hannah

Lloyd Hannah, 87, of Tacoma WA, passed quietly away on February 06, 2011. Mr. Hannah was born November 28, 1923, in Olympia WA to Ethel and Robert Hannah. He was raised in Olympia, where he graduated from High School and later married his sweetheart Doris L. Coats in 1944. He served in the United States Merchant Marines during World War II, from 1943 to 1946, in the South Pacific and Atlantic War Zones. The Hannah’s raised their two children, Larry and Patricia in Seattle, WA. He had a long career as a Radio Engineer and retired from Bates Technical School in Tacoma WA, where he was an Instructor in Radio Broadcast and Cable. Lloyd’s health had always prohibited him from being a licensed pilot but his knowledge of aviation and planes could not be easily challenged. But his true passion was sailing and he gladly experienced this love of sailing every chance he could. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Doris, daughter Patricia, son Larry Marilyn, 6 Grandchildren: Christian, Travis, Jesse, Mark, Bernard, Patty Lynn and 10 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his two brothers Wayne and Merle Hannah. The family wishes to extend a Thank You to the Staff at Manor Care of Tacoma and long time friend Rosa Lee Hannah and family physician Dr. Mark Brooks.
