Obituary

Lorene Robnett was born on February 25, 1918 in San Antonio, Texas to Walter Martin and Estella Banks Martin.

She loved school and graduated from Phillis Wheatley High school in 1936. She was active in church and enjoyed Sunday school. In 1938 her father’s job with the railroad brought the family to Seattle. She quickly made friends and a social group of six women was formed, who remained fast friends for 40 years. She joined Mt Zion Baptist Church in 1938, when she could no longer attend in person, she faithfully listened to the church service on the radio.

In 1939 she married William Henry who passed in 1958, from this union three children were born. In 1960 she married Kelly S. Robnett. She was a devoted wife, friend and mother. Lorene was known for her cooking, dancing and never met a stranger. Lorene also loved to drive and enjoyed taking neighbors to the store, doctors’ appointments and church   She had a strange sense of humor which has been passed down to her children and grandchildren.

Her health failed in 2014 and she needed 24-hour care.  God blessed her by giving her a second family at Fairwood Gardens Adult Home. She was loved, cherished and found new friends.

Lorene is survived by three children: William W Henry (Linda), Robert L. Henry; Mary

K. Colbert: nine grandchildren: Renee Hill, Shannon Henry, Mark Henry, Rachelle

Henry, Monica Henry, Anthony Henry, Kelly Colbert, Kevin Colbert and Johnathan Colbert; two great grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; two nephews and one niece. A special nephew in Arthur Martin and his wife Pat, who was always there for her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Stella Martin: husband Kelly Robnett; brother, Ernest Martin; sisters Lillian Sanders and Florene Moore; great-grandson Charles Fields.
