I worked with Louis way back in 1963 at Washington Iron Works. He is the only co-worker that I even remember. He had so much personality. You are so fortunate to have had him for so long. Bless you.

Jim and I wanted to share our condolences with Louise, Barbara, Carol, and all of his family. We both have great memories of Uncle Louie. All the 4th of July parties at his place on Vashon. And Jim tells me about all the times Uncle Louie hired him to cut his lawn at their house on 13th and Oregon Street. Jim was 13-14 years old. When Jim and I got married, we bought our first house from Uncle Louie, which was on Beacon Hill. Our daughter Kim was very little at the time, and while living there our twin boys were born. This takes us back a few. I always enjoyed dancing with him at family parties. He was one happy man! Big blue eyes!

We received the news via cell phone, on that Saturday evening, about him passing away while driving to Scottdale, Arizona, for our son Paul’s wedding reception. Jim and I want to express our sympathy to all of you. You are all in our prayers during this most difficult time.

While still in Arizona, we have been able to read the obituary and also the main article about his life of 100 years; the interview with Barbara, for the Seattle Times. We are both so sorry, but what a wonderful life, 1906 – 2007. Love Jim and Pam

One memory that I will never forget of Louis. We had installed his yard and the grass had been in for about 12 days. He couldn’t get anyone to mow his yard so that night I loaded up my mower and came over to surprise him.

He didn’t answer the door so I just went ahead and mowed the lawn. As I was finishing the last couple of rows I looked up and saw him through the curtains on his back door.

He was so excited that I was there doing that for him. He still had pizza sauce on his face and it was so cute!

Another time I stopped by his house on a saturday I was working and he answered the door. He started singing his own song “I am so happy so happy I have some company”. Louis truly was a special person and has touched my Life and shared many memorys with me.
