Obituary
In Loving Memory of Lourdes “Diding” Sanchez Zamora Ancheta who passed peacefully at her home on April 7th, 2017 in Seattle, Washington at the young age of 99 years.
Lourdes is survived by her children, Linda Ancheta, Lilia Ancheta Fannin (son-in-law Coley Fannin) and Daniel White (Sue Elsey); grandchildren, Nicole Fannin and Coley Fannin V; and many Nieces and Nephews including Mercedes “Edeng” Zamora Luna, Florinda “Flory” Zamora Ciridon, Enri Zamora, Ernesto “Erning” Zamora, Cesar Zamora and Teodore “One Ball” Sanchez Regio.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Nick Ancheta; son, David White; and all eleven Zamora brothers and sisters, Artemio, Benigno, Pablo, Purita, Maximo, Pat, Tessie, Amang, Manoling, Adeling, and Peping.
Lourdes was born on September 5th, 1917 in Nueva Ecija, Philippines to Feliza Sanchez and Eladio Zamora.
In the Philippines she enjoyed working as a Seamstress then as a Mid-wife. Her dear friends in the Gomez-Dulay Family were instrumental in her immigration to the United States in 1957. She married Nick in 1957 . Nick and Lourdes built their home in the Southend of Seattle in 1962. Lourdes attended Nursing School in 1966 and enjoyed a long career in nursing that included service in the Newborn Nursery at the original Swedish Hospital and two Southend Seattle Nursing Homes. She also enjoyed being a foster parent and a home daycare provider. After retiring from nursing at the age of 80, she dabbled in real estate and enjoyed being a landlady. She was truly a woman of many talents, interests with a strong zest for life.
Lourdes was a dedicated member of the Iglesia ni Cristo. As a Founding Member & Deaconess of the Seattle congregation, her strong Christian beliefs and devotion helped the congregation flourish in the Pacific Northwest. The first Northwest services of the Iglesia ni Cristo were held at Lourdes’ Southend home, a proud contribution to the church from Lourdes and Nick.
She will be fondly remembered for her generosity and selfless charity in helping her family, friends, church and tenants.
Visitation is scheduled for April 21, 2017 (3-8 pm) at Bonney-Watson Washington Memorial Park. Please no flowers.
We are extremely grateful for Linda Ancheta’s dedication and efforts in the care for Lourdes’ every need during her last years of life.
From my Family to yours. Our deepest condolences. I will always remember her care and love to me and my family. She was my first babysitter. When I wss 5, she took care of me and my sister for almost 4 years. She also hosted a party and welcomed my wife when she arrived from the Philippines. Ka Deding was one of my Mom’s best friend. She brought laughter, sunshine, funny stories and food to my Mom every time she visited my Mom. One time, Ka Deding said to me that they were the “Donya” the elegant ladies among the church attendees. She was compassionate, kind, thoughtful and generous.
Ka Deding was a mother to me especially when my Mom passed away. My husband and I visited her as often as I can. On Mother’s Day I brought her roses from my garden and she loved it. She loved my “pancit” and homemade chocolate chips.
Ka Deding RIP; congrats you finished your race and very proud to be the pioneer of INC Seattle Congregation.

Ka Diding will be greatly remembered and missed.
I will miss seeing Ka Diding’s smiling face, and though my heart is saddened that we no longer have her around here to hug and share a laugh with, I am truly so happy that our sister has finished her race. I count myself as one of the lucky ones who can say that they got to know such legend as Ka Diding is.
Ka Linda and family, our hearts are with you. Praying that our Father will give you the comfort and support that you need at this time.
What a beautiful photo of Mrs. Ancheta. She will be missed. Her wonderful smile is contagious. Her kindness and love for others were gifts to all of us. May she rest in peace.
