Obituary
Lucille Gisele Allard Montplaisir passed away on December 30, 2023. Her husband Robert Wilfred Montplaisir passed away on the same day. Lucille was 92 years old. She is survived by her children Michael (Cathy) of Bonney Lake, Diane (David – RIP) Witsil of Wenatchee, John (Kara) of Des Moines, and Colette Babel of Seattle. Also survived by grandchildren Joslin, Jacqueline, Stephanie, Megan, Sean, JJ, Scott and Derek and great-grandchildren Brooks, Henry, Jane, Chelsea, Hudson, Charlotte, and Owen.
Born April 13, 1931 in St. Eustache, Manitoba. Lucille married Robert on September 27, 1952 moving to Seattle, Washington. Lucille was a dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother, never missing a chance to spend time with her children and grandchildren. The holidays were always special because of her. She had many friends and lunched often with them.
She was an active member of St. Philomena Catholic Church participating in the Altar Society and Outreach committee. She helped cook and serve their monthly community meals.
When Robert retired, they became snowbirds in Mesa, Arizona enjoying the warm weather. She was quite the entertainer having people over for cocktail hour, cards and holiday meals. She lived most of her life in Des Moines, but spent 10 years back in Fargo enjoying the family there.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
Funeral services will be held at St. Philomena Catholic Church on Monday, January 15, 2024 at 10:30am.
