Luke Thomas DUNKERLEY

Passed away at Highline Hospital on August 5th, 2004. Born July 17th, 1919 in Paterson, New Jersey to Thomas H. and Katherine Seaton Dunkerley; grew up in Montana. Enlisted in the Army Air Corps 1940; became crew chief of a C47 in a transport squadron. Graduated from Cadets in May 1943. Flew 25 combat missions with 390th Bomb Group as First Lieutenant in a B-17 between October 1943 and March 1944. Left military service in August of 1945, but later became a fighter pilot in the Air National Guard. Spent Civilian career as an air traffic controller and instructor with the FAA. Has resided in OK, MT, TX and in Sequim & Seattle. Had just celebrated his 85th Birthday with his entire family 3 days before his death. Luke will be buried with next to his wife of 57 years, Marguerite LaVerne Dunkerley, in their hometown of Glendive, Montana. He is survived by his Son-In-Law, Jon Magnussen of Bellevue, Grandson Jeff and wife Sarah Magnussen of Long Beach, CA, and Grandson Michael and wife Theresa Magnussen and Great-Granddaughters Mackenzie and Marissa Magnussen, all of Bellevue. A celebration of his life will be held Saturday, August 14th at 2pm at Boulevard Park Place in SeaTac.
