Obituary
Lynne Christine Fuskerud was born on December 10th, 1958 in San Diego, California to parents Helen and Phillip Sacco. She was their first born. When Lynne was just one year old, Phil got out of the Coast Guard and the family moved to Seattle, Washington.
At the age of 8, Lynne accepted the Lord as her Savior. In Jr. High, Lynne played soccer and lettered in the sport at Seattle Christian School. She met a few life-long friends while at Seattle Christian and later at Highline High. After graduating from Highline, she traveled to Europe, visiting Italy and Greece as a Goodwill ambassador. She was very involved in her youth group in her younger years, and went on many trips with them.
Lynne shared her first apartment in Seattle with 2 of her close friends, Dana and Karen, and found her first job at Red Lion hotel as a housekeeper. Later she had a son and a daughter, Mark and Sarah. Lynne always had an entrepreneurial spirit and often created her own businesses. One of them was an in-home daycare while her children were little. They have many fond memories of this time, meeting so many new friends. When her children began elementary school she started working as a teacher’s aid for kindergarten and special needs children. At one point, she moved on to start her own housekeeping business and took pride in helping customers achieve sparkling clean homes. However, her favorite job was her most recent role as a teaching assistant at Happy Hearts Preschool. She was able to work alongside one of her best friends, Brenda.
Lynne and her family lived in multiple states throughout the US and later settled back in Washington. She found a place very close to the home she grew up in, located in Des Moines. This allowed her to attend Midway Covenant Church where she met the love of her life, Daryl Fuskerud. Lynne and Daryl married soon after they met and had 11 wonderful years together. They stayed at each others’ side through all of life’s ups and downs.
Lynne loved to volunteer and give back to the community. She took joy in participating in the Gideon Auxiliary group, distributing Bibles. Lynne and Daryl frequently enjoyed volunteering as a couple, supporting the clothing bank, nursery, communion and other church functions at Midway Covenant Church. Lynne loved many things including kids, animals, and the ocean. She was very creative and often took interest in learning how to make things from scratch. She started collecting teddy bears 25 years ago and even learned how to make and sell her own bears. Lynne loved children and often came home with funny stories about the kids she was able to teach. She also loved all animals. She and Daryl had several pets throughout their years together, including a golden retriever named Jeb, and a cat named Pudding. Then, two years ago, Lynne, Daryl, and Mark visited a local animal shelter and adopted 2 kittens named Max and Luna. They loved to snuggle on Lynne when she sat with her favorite blanket. She often created hand knit scarves to gift to her friends and loved ones during the holidays. She had a love of baking and anytime someone needed a quick pick me up or was having a rough day Lynne was always there to drop off her famous cowboy cookies. Lynne also created and sold beautiful handmade jewelry on Etsy. As much as she loved being at home, Lynne and Daryl would often visit the ocean, including Depoe Bay on the Oregon coast. It was their favorite vacation spot. They would watch the waves splash over the cliffs and spotted many whales. She was also fond of the local stores down there where she could search for antiques.
Lynne is preceded in death by her father Phillip Sacco. She is survived by her mother Helen Sacco, Husband Daryl Fuskerud, her brother Steve Sacco, and her 2 children.
Such a dear friend that never said any negative words and always smiled. I will deeply miss her more than you will know. With Sincere and Deepest Sympathy. God bless everyone in her family.
Lynne, I hold you in my heart. Philippians 1:7
Thank you for Loving my brother, Daryl.
Your talents and artistic creations
fill your home with so much love.
I miss your laughter and that great smile.
Lynne could truly lift our spirits just by her presence. She had a beautiful faith that was evident to all. A few of our favorite memories of Lynne: co-hosting a baby shower for my sister Jill where i first became aware of her gift of creativity; Lynne serving at our wedding reception in 1979 and sharing our joy; the many ways she provided comfort and companionship to our elderly mother. After mom’s passing in 2013, Lynne created a beautiful fused glass dragonfly out of an old spoon of hers. Ever since, it has graced our living room window and we are grateful for Lynne every time we see it.
