Mable Jamon

Obituary
Mable was born in Elkart, TX, May 20, 1913, to Estelle Foster and Joe Washington. She had four brothers, Curtis, Lovie, Joe Jr., and Charlie; and two sisters, Genie and Bonnie. There she united with the Oak Grove Baptist Church at a young age.
She moved to Seattle, WA with her only child William Quarles, Jr. during the war to be with her husband who was serving in the US Navy.
Mable was a devout member of Mount Zion Baptist Church for many years. She was a loving mother and grandmother. She was married to George Jamon.
Recently living at Cascade Vista Nursing Home, where she was very popular with the residents and staff. Shortly after arriving there she was crowned Princess of the Derby days celebration at the home and the next year she was crowned Queen. She was cared for by her loving daughter-in-law, Olive Quarles, until the day she passed.
Mable was affectionately called ‘Punkin.’ She called her granddaughter, Dianna, Punkin when she was a little girl and Dianna called her Punkin back and the name stuck.
Mable was preceded in death by her husband, George Jamon, her son and all her brothers and sisters.
She leaves to mourn her loss, daughter-in-law Olive Quarles, four grandchildren Dianna Quarles-Ludwig, Renee Quarles, Michael Quarles Veasna, Marcus Robin Quarles, six great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren and a host of extended family and friends.
She will be greatly missed.
