Manuel Ebalo Echon, 77, of Seattle, WA, passed away on August 8, 2025. Born on September 30, 1947, in Candelaria, Zambales, Philippines, to Mauricio and Felomina Echon, Manuel was the sixth of ten children, with eight sisters and one brother. A proud Vietnam War veteran, he served 20 years in the U.S. Navy, later working as a mail handler for the U.S. Postal Service, an Environmental Services Tech at Seattle Central Community College, and retiring as a Supply Chain Materials Manager at the University of Washington.

Manuel’s passions filled his life with joy: raising roosters, chickens, and goats, collecting cars, playing poker and slots at the casino, thrifting, and traveling to visit relatives. He loved watching boxing, NBA basketball, and Filipino TV shows with his beloved wife of fifty years, Catalina. Known for his kindness, generosity, and sense of humor, Manuel easily made friends and cherished family togetherness.

He is survived by his wife, Catalina; daughter, Nancy (Thomas); sons, Michael, Ronald (Sirina), Joel, and Spencer; grandchildren, Marcella (Donavin), Micah, Masen, Mila, Samuel, Sally, Theodore, and Maribelle; and pets, DJ, Taro, Luna, and Gigi. He was preceded in death by his son, Anthony. Manuel’s warmth and ability to make friends left a lasting legacy and he will be truly missed.
