Margaret ”Mackie” MCQUEEN

Margaret was born in Ellensburg, Washington, on November 14, 1927, and grew up there on her parents’ dairy farm. She received a B.A. in Apparel Design and Merchandising from the University of Washington and remained in Seattle where she worked in the travel industry as a CTC, making sure every last detail of her clients’ trips were perfect. She traveled all over the world often taking family and friends with her. She loved the Huskies and hosted great parties after the football games. Her annual Christmas party and gift giving are legendary. She died on June 27, 2006, and is greatly missed and survived by sisters Charlotte Peters and Barbara McQueen, 2 nieces, 4 nephews, 8 grand nephews, 1 grand niece and long time friend, Charles Brown. Preceding her in death were her parents Morton and Grace Hanks McQueen, sister Doris Smith and nephew, Roger Peters. Graveside services will be held at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Ellensburg on Saturday, July 8, at 1:00 pm with a gathering of friends and family at her apartment in Seattle at 5:30 the same day. Arrangements by Bonney-Watson.
