Obituary

Marian Marvin Stachurski, 92, of Burien, Washington, died on Tuesday, April 22, 2025. He was born on February 15, 1933, to parents Jozef and Felicja Stachurski in the town of Kalusz, which is located state of Stanislawow, Poland, and is now recognized as a city of Ukraine.


When Marian was seven years old, the Russian Army forcefully relocated his family to a labor camp in Siberia. They were held there until 1942, when Marian’s father joined the Polish Army and they were moved to Tehran (Persia), Iran. The family was later relocated to a base for displaced military dependents known as Koja in Uganda, Africa in 1944, then again in 1948 to Stover Hostel in England.


In 1951, Marian and his family moved to join family in Seattle, Washington. Soon after the move, Marian was drafted into the United States Army and was stationed in Seoul, South Korea.


Once Marian’s service to his country had ended, he returned to Seattle and started his career as an engineer for Boeing. He worked for Boeing for a total of 42 years and retired from there in 1995.


Marian is survived by Eugenia, his wife of 56 years, as well as by his brother, John.


He was preceded in death by his parents Jozef and Felicja Stachurski, as well as by his brother Stanley.


A graveside service will take place on Monday, May 5, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Calvary Cemetery, 5041 35th Ave NE, Seattle, WA 98105.


A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

John/ Gina : i will always remember how upbeat Marion was . Really enjoyed his ability to always look to find an answer to every thing that came up . Knowing he is in a better place hopefully will ease the pain of his passing .
