Obituary

Marian Rose Hart was born in Spokane, WA. May 29, 1924 to parents Carl and Nettie McLucas. She had two older brothers, Horton (deceased) and Frederick. Marian passed away June 9, 2013 at the age of 89. Her father Carl was employed by the Northern Pacific railroad and this gave the family pass privileges. As a result, Nettie and Marian would travel to Hollywood, CA. during summer months where Marian took dancing lessons and performed in some stage performances. She also took music lessons and played piano and clarinet in the North Central High School orchestra. As a result of her early training in the arts, she did the same for her children.

Marian married John E. Hart, a Navy Signalman on Sept. 2, 1944. Together, they had three children: Janie Hart-Sterling, Judie (deceased) and Ronald (deceased)

There are 7 Grandchildren: Kelly, Daughter of Janie; Scott & Marian, Son & Daughter of Ron & Janie Hart-Sterling: Alicia & Marlene, Daughters of Mark and Judie Hart-Favro; Carley, daughter of Ronald Hart and Yvette and Rhonda, Daughter Ronald and Karen Hart.

There are 7 Great Grandchildren: Connor & Kayla, children of Brian and Kelly McDonald; Nadia, Shalena, Naomi and Kisha, children of Alicia and more recently, Renee, born Dec. 6, 2012, daughter of Rhonda and Andrew Oberholtzer

Marian and John Hart were divorced Jan. 20, 1965. About that time, she became employed by Wigwam Stores of Seattle as a Retail clerk and advanced over the years to a Store Manager. During her working years, she managed to take some trips. In 1969, her daughter Janie had moved to New York City to engage in the garment design trade. Marian arranged to take Ron and Judie with her to visit Janie. Marian, Judie and Ron were introduced to the sights and sounds of NYC by Janie. This is still a very memorable occasion for Janie.

Marian retired in 1982 when all Wigwam stores closed. Now she could spend more time with family and friends and she was able to do more travelling which she loved. She and her good friend Edna Schaeffer traveled to Europe on one occasion and later, she, Judie and granddaughter Marlene made several trips abroad. These trips with her Mother and Grandmother leave Marlene with many cherished memories.

Marian had a full and vibrant life and only in her last few years when health issues ensued did she have to rely on her Brother Fred and Family members to handle her affairs. She is at peace now and will be missed by all.
