Marilynn McArthur
Marilynn passed away peacefully on December 12, 2012. She was born in Indianapolis, IN in 1930, to Lynn and Laurene Arthur. Lynn, a US Navy civil engineer, was transferred to the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard in Bremerton in 1940. So Marilyn spent her high school years in Western Washington, thoroughly enjoying many friends and activities.
Marilyn went on to earn her BA in Sociology at the University of Washington. She married Ralph Battis in 1955. She was a loving homemaker for their three children. She later worked for Burlington Northern Railroad until her retirement. She was an active clogger and Volkssport walking enthusiast, traveling throughout the state to hundreds of events.
She is preceded in death by her parents, and brother Bob, and is survived by her three children, Jeff Battis, Karen Spencer, Craig (Gretchen) Battis, and three grandsons, Chris, Sam, and Zachary.
A celebration of life service will be held for Marilynn on January 4, 2013 at 1:00 pm, at Highline United Methodist Church, 13015 1st Ave S, Burien.
Memorial offerings may be made to Highline United Methodist Church Missions Fund.
