Obituary
Marjorie Elizabeth Christenson was born January 23, 1920 to Robert and Margaret Burns in Wellington, New Zealand. She was the only girl, with four brothers, Jim, George, Bob and Bill. She grew up during the Depression and went to work as a seamstress at the age of 13. Betty, as she was known to friends and family, met a young US Marine, Ferris Christenson, who was in New Zealand for rest after the battle at Tulagi during WWII. They were married and Ferris returned to the States and in 1946 Betty joined him. They moved to Lewiston, Minnesota.
In 1973 she and “Chris” divorced and she moved to Las Vegas, NV. where she lived until 2007 when she moved with Bronwen and her late husband Doug to Oregon. She loved working for Gucci at Caesars Palace for many years until she retired. In 2010 she moved to live with Lynne in Federal Way, WA. Betty was known for her sense of adventure, fun loving nature and her love of animals.
She is survived by her brother, Bob, and her children, Bronwen Johnson Ross of Portland, OR, Wayne (Barbara) Christenson of Rochester, MN. and Lynne (Harold) Johnson of Federal Way, WA. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren.
She will be dearly missed by all who knew her. A memorial service has been planned for October 20, 2012, in Federal Way, WA.
To the Christenson Family. May you find comfort in Jesus words at John 5:28,29 where there is a sure promise of a resurrection for our dear loved ones. Revelation 21:4
