My condolences to Marlene’s family and friends. I live 2 houses south of where Marlene lived on Military Rd. When she was selling the house I had just had foot surgery and I wanted to visit her but I couldn’t so I didn’t know where she moved. I was saddened to see the obituary in the paper.
Mike, Cheryl, Kristine, and Zewe Family,
Times like this are so hard, I wish I had magical words to help with your sorrow. There’s always that special bound you have with your mom, and then to loose that, but you don’t loose it, it’s in your heart and your memories. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
Dear, Mike, Denise, Brian and Cheryl
I have so many fond memories of your Mom. She always made me laugh! She was one of the luckiest people I know when she was gambling on her Nickel machines and most always coming home a winner!! I always looked forward to the Zewe’s coming to California for their annual summer visits. Your Mom would always take us out to dinner when you came down, something fun like Pizza for us kids. Remember all the wonderful BBQ steak dinners at Uncle Chet’s house? Who could forget those! I remember your Mom enjoying herself so much at her brothers home. Those were great times! I know you will all miss your Mom deeply but you have so many wonderful memories to help you through this very difficult time. My thoughts and prayers are with you all!
Hi Grandma!
I know that I haven’t been able to see you a lot and that Anthony has scarce memories of Grandpa George, but we still miss you no matter how many times we have seen you. You mean the world to Anthony and me. I hope that you and Grandpa George have reunited in heaven. We will always remenber what you have done for us.
Love,
Jacqueline and
Anthony Zewe
To the family of Marlene; I only knew Marlene a short while after she moved into Glen Acres. I had the wonderful opportunity of living above her which allowed us to have several wonderful visits. I wished I had known her longer as she seemed to be a real “kick”. I loved the fact that she was so up-front and honest. We would sit and talk about our late husbands and our children and I know from those conversations what a wonderful Mom she must have been to all of you. You were her world, that’s for sure. Please accept my heartfelt sorrow in your time of grief but know, that through time and the Grace of our Lord, times will get easier and the memories that each of you have will become all the more precious. My prayers to all of you.
I will miss visiting with you Marlene.
Marie

Love You more than these words can say, Denise

To the Zewe Family, I did not know Mrs. Zewe but, from my friendships with Mike and Cheryl, I do know she was a wonderful mother. I hope you find peace from her well-lived life and the knowledge that she is in a better place, painfree, rejoined with your father. Gain strength from her love which will always surround you. My prayers are with you.
We have known Marlene for about 40 years. Denise and Susan were friends through their schools years and even afterward. We will miss you Marlene.
Ralph remembers when we first moved into the neighborhood and Marlene came over and asked if Denise could play with Susanbecause she didn’t want her to cross Military. Ever since then Sue and Denise have been friends.
Dear: Mike, Denise, Brian, Cheryle
What a blessing to have been a sister – friend of Marlenes. There is no one so special and
unique as a mother, grandmother, sister, wife and friend. Her unconditional love for all of you
and her grandchildren and your Dad.
She reached out to so many during her lifetime here. I am speaking as her being my big sister to
myself. She was always a friend and loved all of us. The memories are endless from making mud pies my favorite play time to sleeping on a cot in the hall when all the family were together
and each of us slept on each end and a mouse bit her nose- to sharing the same ages of our children. I saw her accept the Lord as her personal savor and be baptized into his Kingdom.
I worked alongside her in the berry fields, tulip and daffodil farms. She was a very attractive woman and I watched her fall in love with your Dad and I watched her walk down the aisle as they became one.
In later years we did not live close in miles but could pick up the phone and call to say hi and what’s new.
Marlene loved sports, swimming, running, square dancing and of course pinnacle. I can remember when each of you were born and what joy in her heart you fulfilled.
Hold onto all the memories that you made with your Mother and believe that she is in God’s arms and you will see her again!
You did well Marlene – your four living children are proof of that and will live on through them and your grandchildren.
Love you Forever!
Aunt, Janet

Woody and I have fond memories of Marlene. We will miss her beautiful smile and the sound of her laughter. In the last few years we had great times being together. Playing pinochle, having dinner together. She was my partner in the Saturday night couples and I will miss her. Woody and I enjoyed calling and talking to her on the telephone. For the last time. Bye Bye Marlene. Rest in peace and we will meet again in heaven.
As Bells & Buoys Square Dance friends, who also knew George, we send our condolences to the family.
We will miss Marlene.
