Martha Ilene Waltrip passed away on December 2, 2019, in Burien, Washington. She was born February 27, 1936, in Spokane, Washington to Herman and Lorena (Raught) Scharer. Martha graduated from Foster High School in 1955 and lived in the Seattle area most of her life.
She was preceded in death by husbands Everett Waltrip, Stanley Schuldt and her parents.
Martha was a loving and devoted mother raising her children as a stay-at-home mom. She was a talented seamstress and loved creating beautiful crafts. She was a hard worker and a perfectionist who was willing to tackle just about anything that needed fixing. She was active for many years in Grange, Eastern Star, the Masons and devoted many hours to those fraternal organizations.
Martha is survived by daughter, Janna Waltrip; sons, Michael Schuldt (Doris Christianson), Gregory Schuldt (Kathy Schuldt), Kevin Waltrip, Everett Waltrip III; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; sister, Lorena Scharer Drummond and longtime best friend Audrey Neumeister.
She will be greatly missed and will live forever in the hearts of those she left behind. A family memorial will be held at a later date.
She was a 2nd mom to me. Always warm and caring. Hung out with her in her camping trailer just being accepted and feeling loved more than people know. I Am so happy Audrey got to have such a BFF. I will never forget it was YOUR mom who sat daily, all day, at my mom’s bedside in the hospital when she was so sick. I loved your mom and will miss her until I am no longer here to do so.
