Obituary
With great sadness, we announce the loss of our beloved father/grandfather/great-grandfather, Marvin Titterud. In loving memory of Marvin, we are saddened to announce his passing on Friday January 12, 2024. A life so fully lived deserves to be beautifully remembered.
Please join us to celebrate Marvin’s wonderful and blessed life on Friday February 16th at 10am PST at the Tahoma Veterans Cemetery with lunch to follow close by. We will gather to celebrate the remarkable life of our beloved Marvin, who had reached the incredible milestone of 98 years young. He was a man of strength, wisdom and quick wit- leaving an indelible mark on all our lives.
Our dearest Marvin lived through almost a century of history, witnessing the world evolve in ways that were beyond imagination when he was born in North Dakota. Losing his mother at a young age forced him to live with extended family and attend high school in the rural town of Leavenworth in Washington state. He graduated in 1943. He was shortly after drafted into the Navy during World War II. He returned to North Dakota to start his career in farming, which then led him into a career selling insurance and allowed him the opportunity to start the Midas franchise in Washington state shortly after. He became passionate about boating around the Puget Sound and Canadian San Juan Islands and was an active member of the Seattle Yacht Club. He also enjoyed his many community events with the Rotary Club and was a faithful member of his Christian church. He carried with him a treasure trove of stories and experiences, sharing them with us as a bridge to the past. His resilience in the face of challenges, his unwavering faith and his ability to find joy in the simple moments are lessons that we will forever carry in our hearts.
As a patriarch, he wove our family together with threads of vigor and a strong work ethic. He taught us the value of toughness through challenging times, the importance of laughter and living life with a sense of adventure and purpose. His legacy extends far beyond the number of years he lived. It’s in the ways he touched lives, in the countless smiles he shared and in the profound impact he had on each person fortunate enough to know him. His memory will live on through the stories we tell, the traditions we continue and the love we share with one another.
While we mourn his physical absence, let us remember that his spirit lives on in the love he planted in our hearts. Marvin is survived by his wonderful daughter Vicki Moore, his sweet grand-daughters Amelia & Jessica Moore, Angela Vineyard and Michelle Graham and lovely great grandchildren Yasemin Moore and Jace Giarratano. He was also blessed with his late wife Dorothy’s side of the family, which includes beautiful daughters Chris Roberts and Kat Cuadros, wonderful grandkids Michael Roberts, Kathleen Allasia, Brent Roberts, Alex and Christina Cuadros and lovely great-grandchildren Connor & Reid and Kaleb & Zoey.
As we bid farewell to our dear Marv, let us also celebrate the extraordinary life he lived and the enduring love that will forever connect us to him. Rest in peace dear Marv, knowing that your legacy will continue to shine brightly through the lives you’ve touched. We will love you always….
